The String Orchestra of the Rockies, now in its 24th year, is the only professional ensemble of its kind in Montana. SOR, as the orchestra is affectionately known, draws upon the talents of the finest string players in the Big Sky Country. Many internationally acclaimed guest artists have shared the stage with the String Orchestra of the Rockies, thrilling audiences with their musical reach and flexibility. The group regularly plays to a full house as they treat listeners to music as varied as Montana itself.

MAT-Missoula is a dynamic member of the Missoula artistic community. In addition to being a part of a 501(c)(3) regional Montana theatre company, MAT-Missoula is also a local entity! We employ hundreds of volunteers yearly Рfrom actors to technicians to box office staff! In addition, we connect with the lives of the Missoula community daily, through publicity, outreaches, workshops, and productions. We are also a part of the Missoula economic community, raising and spending money locally and located in the heart of downtown Missoula on Higgins in the Crystal Theatre! MAT-Missoula is a “family” of artists and we want you to be a part!

Founded in 2001, the chorus now has more than 100 voices, and under the direction of Ronald Wilcott, the no audition chorus, and its satellite group the Missoula Community Chamber Chorale, perform several times a year. Holiday appearances in December and our Singing valentines are especially well-received and fun! Interested musicians can contact us through our website. New singers are admitted, space permitting, in September and January.
