Arts Missoula’s Incubator Program offers fiscal sponsorship to outside groups just getting started, but haven’t gone through the process of registering as a 501.c.3 corporation. Incubator projects are able to use Arts Missoula as a nonprofit umbrella.
Arts Missoula Celebrates a Strong Year for Fiscal Sponsorships: Creative Growth, Community Impact, and New Ventures
MISSOULA, MT – July 2025 — Arts Missoula has officially closed the books on Fiscal Year 2025, and despite the many uncertainties facing the world today, one thing is clear: the arts in Missoula are thriving.
This year, our fiscal sponsees made remarkable strides in enriching lives through music, sculpture, storytelling, education, and cultural celebration. These projects, incubated under Arts Missoula’s nonprofit umbrella, reflect the depth of creativity and the power of the arts to inspire, connect, and heal.
Elevating Youth Through Music
All City Jazz and Grow Music Missoula continued to provide extraordinary access to music education for Missoula’s youth. Through a combination of classes, workshops, concerts, scholarships, and a dedicated student ambassador program, these organizations ensured that more children than ever before were able to engage deeply with jazz and stringed music. Their commitment to shaping the next generation of musicians and community leaders is nothing short of inspiring.

Big Ideas, Big Art: New Projects on the Move
Two new fiscal sponsees launched in FY25 and quickly made headlines with visionary work and record-breaking fundraising:
- Sculpture Missoula will debut a new sculpture park at Silver Park with a grand opening on September 11th, establishing a new landmark for public art and creative placemaking in the heart of the city.
- Wheels on the Bus, a mobile clay studio, is now fully outfitted—with real wheels and pottery wheels! Their recent grand opening at the Missoula Art Museum (MAM) drew crowds eager to see art on the move, literally.

Theatre for Change
No Joke Theatre continues to push boundaries and break barriers, working with participants from pre-release programs, traffic court, and recovery communities. Founder Leah Joki’s work highlights the intersection of the arts and community wellness, offering a powerful model for how storytelling and performance can contribute to healing, growth, and self-worth.
