Accessibility in the Arts

At Arts Missoula, we believe the arts are for everyone. Accessibility isn’t just about removing barriers, it’s about creating experiences that welcome and engage people of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds.

Across Missoula, organizations and artists are reimagining how art can be seen, heard, and felt by all. From sensory-friendly performances and ASL-interpreted events to tactile exhibits and accessible venue design, our community is leading with creativity and care.

At Arts Missoula, we’re committed to modeling accessibility in our own work:

Arts Missoula
Statement of Intent

At Arts Missoula, we believe in the power of the arts to bring people together and strengthen our community. We are committed to supporting all artists and arts organizations as small businesses and recognize they are essential contributors to Missoula’s cultural and economic vitality.

We acknowledge that some communities of artists and creators have historically faced barriers to representation and opportunity. Our goal is to listen, learn, and collaborate to work toward greater access to the tools and platforms needed to thrive. We are dedicated to uplifting and amplifying voices and to fostering an inclusive environment where all forms of creative expression are celebrated.

By focusing on connection, opportunity, and equity, we aim to nurture a thriving, vibrant arts community that reflects and serves all who call Missoula home.
