Missoula Sings is a community song circle where members learn simple songs by ear. Founded by Barron Peper, the organization (now led by a 5 person leadership team) has grown into a 500+ person community dedicated to the belief that connection and song are every person’s birthright.

Missoula Sings is about connection—without the need for words. Singing is a universal language that opens doors to shared experiences and embodies ritual, allowing us to explore themes that touch every life: freedom, love, water, grief, and more. It’s a way to reclaim what’s been lost—many of us come from cultures that no longer gather through music or ritual. Here, we revive that heritage, not through perfection but through connection. This space welcomes every voice, especially those who’ve said, “I’m not a singer.” Your ancestors sang, and so can you.

This isn’t just about singing—it’s about creating a community where everyone belongs. In this space, you’ll learn songs that are easy to carry, sing about themes that unite us, and build authentic connections without the pressure of performance. Whether you join us once or make this part of your life, your voice matters. Together, we weave a vision of how to live, love, and connect in ways that honor both the past and the possibilities of what we can create. Let’s sing together, just as our ancestors did.
