My creativity is an extension of my spirit.

At three years old in Seattle, WA, I could be seen sitting in the kitchen, drawing for hours – rainbows, clouds, flowers and princesses.

After moving to San Francisco, CA, I went to The San Francisco Montessori School, for 4th – 8th grade. I benefitted from a wonderful art and music program, and I flourished creatively. At Lowell High School, I discovered surrealism, and escaped into the art room in free periods, rendering vines growing while belted to the ground.

AP art class allowed me to submit a portfolio to the Rhode Island School of Design, and I received an award for my artwork when I graduated.

In my twenties, I ventured into color with acrylic and pastels. New mediums led to a small show at Goat Hill Pizza, where I sold one piece. It was a self portrait, in pastels, that to me resembled me looking like Curt Cobain.

My move to Portland, OR, brought photography into focus as a new medium, and I roamed the Southeast neighborhood taking photos with a old manual camera. I had a photography show in a small coffee shop consisting of black & white photos of flowers, architecture and some candids of Portlanders.

Life got loud, and I put down my art for a long time.

It was the pandemic in Missoula, MT, when I picked up a paintbrush for again. I painted Survival Succulents sitting on the ground in front of a huge canvas in my dining room.

Chloe Lyons is showing for the first time in Missoula for First Friday at FMC Books for the month of March 2026. The opening celebration will be March 6th from 4 pm - 8 pm.
