Barbara sculpts concrete starting with a wet medium working fast as it is setting up as she is working to finish her piece. Her subjects are figurative sometimes human sometimes animal and sometimes a bit of both. Her artwork can be installed inside or outside. Her intention when she started creating in concrete was for outdoor sculptures but as things evolve she started incorporating things like feathers that would not old up outside. Her sculptures are mostly shades of brown blending well with trees that they often hang on.
Barbara has 2 sculpture trails where you can find in Hamilton 32 sculptures and at Flathead Lake 25 sculptures. Public installation of 4 pieces at the Ravalli County Museum called “Surviving 2020”
To express Barbara’s love for color she creates paintings with the vibrant medium of alcohol inks subjects are botanicals and of course figurative. This medium is manipulated using air to provide a very fluid appearance.
Barbara’s studio is always open to the public so stop and see what she is working on.
